J. Challen Peromyscus maniculatus Crooked R, 3400ft. at mouth of Bear Cr., Crook Co. Oregon June 29 - caught 10 Peromyscus in 50 traps set in sandy soil in sagebrush, and on rocky hillside in junipers. - Most mice caught in junipers and not in sand. Brooks Mdw. 4300ft. 9 mi. ENE Mt Hood, Hood River Co. Oregon July 6 - caught 6 P. maniculatus in 85 traps. set in meadow and at edge of timber. Specimens caught in traps near timber and not out in open meadow. Twin Bottes 4300ft. 2 1/2 mi. S.W. Steamboat Htn. Skamania Co. Wash. July 12 - specimens caught at present locality mostly in traps set near edge or underneath brush piles. July 16. Maryhill, 200 ft. Klickitat Co. Wash. 6 Peromyscus in 60 traps set along dry wash. July 30 N.E. edge Alkalidake 4200ft., Lake Co. Oregon. 17 P. maniculatus caught in 54 traps. Specimens caught in traps set near or beneath large clumps of sagebrush or fireweed.
