J.E. 1939 Itinerary July 24 - 1 mi N Burbank 350 ft. Walla Walla Co, Wash. (P.M) Went across Columbia & Snake rvers, and my across Yakima r. also to Richland and set out 75 mouse traps 20 jaces apart in hard sandy soil. Soil was loose sand in some spots. Vegetation cover ? fairly thorny Sagebrush, Cheat grass and some cactus. 1 gopher trap set in sandy soil in field near town. July 25 (P.M) Checked my traps - Results. 4 Perognathus parvus 3 & 1? Returned to camp and moved camp in P.M. to position near Lewis Park in Walla Walla Co. 7 mi E and 5-mi. S Dixie, 4300 ft. Walla Walla Co, Wash. 8:45 P.M. - shot Myotis (pf ?) flying over gun clearing near camp site. Set out 2 gopher sets in clearing covered with sod in reddish loose light loam. Soil fairly moist. July 26 (P.M.) 1 gopher caught - (Thomomy talpides &) 3 more sets put out. 12:30 P.M. - caught 2 more Thomomy talpides / & 1? 12:45 P.M. - shot 4 Citellus columbianus in dead branch pile resulting from tree trimming. (P.M) Moved camp to Stayswhile Spring Columbia C,
