Write Letters. #595 and #596 from port of Yaviza. #597 is from Rio Chico 1 Km due E to Yaviza. Paid 20ยข Picked up my river, got gas, bought supplies. We went up Rio Chico to look for mesquite pits. We bathed & did washing in the River. (the way the people there do) jump in with your clothes on & wash them at the same time. The fish bite of you stand still in the water. They attack with soap bubbles, diving flip the second they land. On the way back we stopped at the missionaries who have lived here for 5 years. They have banana trees behind their house & seeds we could not miss such trees for bath if we wanted. Belderemo Okio & Enfermedades (Chiron) and this two families were hosts. They had dinner for us & gave me a piece of rubber flower I had taken one of mine. We stayed till about 9& then headed home in the dark. Earlier that day Luis taught me how to use the motor & paddle & palanca. There are channels in the river some parts should be know well before being used by a boat with a motor.
