O. Caroline 1967 Journal Yaviza, Darien Prov., Rep de Panama 58 Sept 23rd They shoot them with slingshots. #575 we see on the hill (cemetery) looking down to the river. The 20 runners are out side playing & singing. Their melody is very catching & they grin like crazy when they sing. They throw their heads back & really enjoy their sounds. I forgot to mention that we bought #560 for 50¢ and ate him for dinner. 50¢ is a low market price. #576 came with a "little hunk": The #577 is the catch in the river for today Sept 24th #578 from grove of trees dead #582 #589 The #579 a "little hunk" shot here in the city. The #580 that is now skinned we bought for 50¢ is the one, oh boy, that they wanted $3.00 for Olive. #581 #584 , #590 are from the Jaxon proper. #593 #583 are from the river in front of town. The come into us one by one or three or four at a time usually. #585, 586, 587 are acrobats from Yaviza by the rice mill. #588 we paid 20¢ for. #591, 592 are from near the river in wood land.
