C. Caeelew 1967 Journal 4/3 Ponana Sept 14 Rio Pirri, .4 Km S.W. El Real, Darien Pico get advice from them & hope. Skinned the two parrots & the tocoran, gave also meat to the fishes for their acclty & head of back to gavinjal 5.45 I was able to see some birds from the fishes. got 60. I got to drive the "Pink Panther" home (with direction from Pete who knows steven) all night must be extra careful objects in the water. Saw one large hat (?) and several smaller ones.. Saw rapped herons just outside El Real. Arrived to gavinja after day, had dinner, fried snakes, birds & went to sleep - very tired. Sept. 15 Biscuit bread, moved the 43 chickens out of the kitchen I set up a skering place (in the kitchen) Today we skinned & prepared the birds we got yesterday. We had 10 little hunters bring us days ago. Paid them $1 for 2. They took a while getting them but we still got quite a few. They we all caught in town on the benches & trees. The #247 was from yavinja on the edge of town. Spent some time trying to organize a space to put everything. Tonight 3 Indians came to visit (plus the usual crowd of kids from gavinja).
