Sept 12 Yariza, Darien Prov. Rep. de Panama
jacans, spotted sand piper (x yps pigeons),
blue ground dove, ruddy ground doves,
swifts (? don't know which) hummers,
ruffs tailed hermit, linnaeus woodpecker,
laughing falcon, capped heron, (heard
a macaw (blue & gold we think)) saw
rewsty
margim, barn swallow, rough winged
swallows, mangrove swallows, martins
(gray headed?), Anis smooth billed Ani,
greatw Ani, Ora pendula, yellow-tacked
tanager, blue-gray tanager, yellow backed
oriole, keel billed toucan, blue black
guac quetz. ON the river about 3 hours.
When we arrived in town we were asked
if we had seen the body floaty down the
river. Nope, too busy looking at birds.
The men got a with a machete too. They
haven't found the murder yet. Got some
chickw feed, check out possible most red
digits, had lunch with very nice family,
headed back up river in slight drizzle.
(Walked around town) & talked with many
of Peter's friends. Dinner was good. Boy
brought #209. I paid 15$ for it.. Since I have no gun we tried to
get some of the natives to collect for us,
but they are amazingly lazy.
