Finca Jimenez, Guanacast Prov. Costa Rica
August 15 mouse then went to bed. Can't keep food down & am extremely dizzy. Not a hard time even with alcoholic tape. No rain very hot. Mostly day sleeping
August 16 Stayed in bed all day - very ill but felt better at night. The four birds from today were from the nest. Made effort to go owl hunting. Saw 1 Barnowl & many paraguas (2 on fence posts)
August 17. Still very dizzy - shot one bird, came up to next hunted another then another ½ hr. rest. Not the way to build up large collection. 162, 163, 164 were are [illegible] in small 10-15' trees near house (couldn't see far at all !!). The

flew low onto an hidden branch. He moved up the branch (10°L) as I was aiming. Monkey yelled at the shot even though I saw none before, I shot. Rain [illegible] in afternoon. Couldn't stand up long enough to set traps. The owl hunt: 4 Barn owls, the usual large number of paraguas one Mlediphus vigerensses & a Aldo Borgesi
August 18 Again feeling ill (not so extreme today) still about (±) 3pm. Haven't the energy to keep for any length & time. She*167 was on dead log walley
