C. Carolin 1967 25 Journal August 13 [illegible] mi s & Finca Jimenez, Guanacaste Prov, Costa Rica. For about 1 hour of this mornings hunting I felt extremely dry but have felt better the rest of the day. Came back to the cabin & hunted newsid for little birds (22's). #140 was feeding with 3 other birds in end branches of pretty leafy tree. The dove flushed from grassy area below 3 foot tank. Could find no nest where he was. #142 x 143 were feeding in tree with some light yellow birds. They flew away before I could get one. They are flighty birds. She was jumping before I shot him. The trap got with peanuts instead of oat meal. Also set traps in higher grass & shrubs *see next page away from the newly cut grass. Set 19. August 14 Rained during the night. Got only one mouse but she had tricky few so she was worth all the trap setting. Site #145. won a peanut butter trap. #146 was alone in bush beside road. It was singing & quite still. There were no other bushes near - only grass. On a large tree with large leaves I shot #147. Saw 2 coatis later in the day & they looked as if they were feeding each other. This was
