C.Carelew 1967 Journal 17 15.mi S. Carellano, Heredia Prov. Costa Rica August 7 many & little birds & 2 creepers. But they were all over the cliff & impossible to shoot. Finally # 107 flew into the tree with the two tucans that he was on the road & therefore choosable. All three birds appear to be feeding on a large dark fruit of this size O. The #105- pshot on a low branch of a bushy tree. These are very flighty birds- never in one place very long. # 108 , was in the net in the afternoon & 3:30 #111 we found him the net about 6:30 found the last trap with a mouse in it. The ants had eaten him away a little so I made an alcoholic cut & find. The #110 was one of a flock of birds feeding about 5:25 The traps next in the areas where I got mice last time. Not much uncle or nonbank place for traps the rain is heavy again - O hope it won't set of the traps. I covered the traps with large leaves where they were exposed. So I hope it works. August 8 Had only one belw the net (murcote said) and two mice in the traps. Lendy on log must be a main run way because
