P. Curleu 1967 Journal 15 August 5 cont 15 mi S Cari Blanca, Heredia Prov. Costa Rica 4 feet from the line & heavy forest. When we arrived back at the truck we found 8 birds in the net (1 Satin). The hammers # 92 # 93 , # 94 , and # 95 . Also # 91 I set a trap line Y & it has hardly rained at all so far so maybe ... WE checked the fat webs at 9:15 & had 2 rats (the same). # 98 August 6 (up before dawn) & rushed to check the line. Got two mice. I set the traps in 4 different habitats. In cut grass w/some visible run ways - could have been made before glass was cut. - No mice. Second - along hillside in short dense growth. No mice again Y much to my surprise only one or two trap fired & ants eating the bait. The third was along Y under old piece of board near the truck. Here I got one (caught his foot) # 101 Also one other trap under the board was sprung.
