Luea, Luedm 1972 Journal 13 Liesta Lake, Yosemite Nat'l Park, Tuolumme Co, Calif. elev ~8000 ft. July 22 (cont). 2 of the 3 we saw as well as a dead tadpole (see sp accs R. muscosa) habitat - see journal July 16 (p.9) topo map ref - see journal July 16 (p8) From here we drove down to the Crane Flat ranger station. ~ .2 mi (or less) beyond Sequoia (r) Auto Nature Trail we pulled off road and ate supper ~ 6:30-7:30 P.M. Made camp in fairly open grove of [illegible] (Jeffrey ?) pine. Slept til ~ 8:00 A.M. next day. Am wondering now about why we saw so few animals at Liesta Lake compared with the last afternoon we were there. T°(air) was cooler. Could it be temp. effect? Or are they that highly diurnal?
