S.M. 1975 Hylo regilla 2 California: San Joaquin Co (?) at bridge just below Castle Rock Livermore, (Corral Hollow) 22 July several tads there in muddy area all meta- morphosing. Saw 2 juveniles & 1 adult. California: Co., Navarro Riw. at 25 July Hendy Woods State Pk picnic area at least 100 tads metamorphosing in smallish pool (~ 10' x 2 1/2'). Also Bufo there. bank pool rocks algal gth in river California: Modoc Co., Stone (Stough) Reservoir 28 July Reservoir is really just pond, ~30' diameter to grasses all along edges. Whole pond filled w/ tadpoles, many w/ hind legs grown. Am not good at estimates but are several 1000 there if not >= 10,000. Someone who had been camping in the area since early May said adults had been breeding ~ mid May. California: Modoc Co., Lily Lake 28 July in one shallow area w/ grasses & silt fd both Hylo (aetho few) & Bufo (which were elsewhere in lake also). Collected a few. Seem much younger than those at Stone Res.
