july
walked ~2 mi upstream from bridge over W. fork of river. No adults seen? Did collect 10 Hyla tads. Also see some Bufo (?) tads.
All larvae in pools separated off from main body of river which was rather rapid.
4 July
Calif: Los Angeles Co., East Fork San Gabriel River, elev 1658' T2N R9W quad
8:30-10:30 AM (PDT) just E. Williams flat area. No adults seen. 14 tads collected from 2 areas. Again tads in small dirty pools, some w algae.
Lots there. Many w hind limbs developed.
Some w forelegs also.
Pools isolated from main body of river by ~100 ft. Suspect they may go dry by late summer.

Calif: Los Angeles Co., W. Fork San Gabriel River elev 1658'T2N R10W quad
11:00-11:45 AM (PDT). Walked ~ 1/4 mi. up river. Found 8 tads in quiet pool at side of river. Trouble w plastic bags breaking so went back. None w hind limbs erupted
