ee, S.M. 1974 Rana muscosa 9 California: Tuolumne Co., Dog Lake, Yosemite Natl Park, ~1.5 mi from Lembert Dome parking lot in Tuolumne Meadows elev 9240' August cought 10 individuals - seem to be most common in shallow areas where is grass growing. Also logs, etc. although will just sit on bank. Seem to require shade. Few tads Seen- all look like 2nd yps. (9-11pm PDT) (Ref to frogs caught in Elizabeth's Dog Lakes). 18 Aug.- 22 Aug ~ 8:30 - 10:30 pm (PDT) in Berkeley, Calif. arived home ~ 6:00 pm (PDT). Removed animals from ice chest in which had been stored, placed in plastic shoe boxes (4-5 animals each) in H2O. Left on kitchen table and shades drawn. Only light on was in bedroom (to door open) ~ 8:30 pm & sporadically (~ once/1/2 hr.) heard low single hollow click, < 1 sec. length. Pitch seem to vary - heard at least 3 distinct individuals. No movement of any animals observed (ie no one hopping art to confuse things). Next am (19 Aug) ~ 7-7:30am (PDT) heard diff part of call- longer (~2 sec or more), sort of trill + release call have heard before, although shorter). Also given sporadically. Heard this again many (?) times (is on tape) &o Pitch of varies -
