California: Alpine Co., Mosquito Lakes elev 8050' 24 July 1974 stopped at Mosquito lakes at Pacific Grade Summit. are 2 lakes there separated by a dam. Upper Mosquito is farthest west & largest. Lot of people fish there. Caught 2 tad on east bank which was grassy, shallow & more away from road. Seems to be good size population there - mostly on side away from road & where H2O is shallower. Caught 10 individuals in a 50 foot area bth 11:30 am - 12:30 pm (PDT). Then went down to 2nd lake & caught 10 individuals there. Again, frogs more numerous on bank removed from road. Population does not seem as large there. Worked 12:30pm-2:15pm(PDT).
