Rana muscosa Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite Nat'l Park, Tuolumne Co. Calif. intermittent showers for last hr & 1/2 . found in quiet shallow side pool w some (o vegetation). T. 15. R. 34E sect 5 Cathedral Creek, Yosemite Nat'l Park, Tuolumne Co., Calif. elev. ~8160'-8240'. 3:30-4:30 P.M. Stopped on road where creek is closest. waded down @ ~ 100 yd steep bank of lge rock, & lodgepole pine bark extending & fallen. Water hit foot so wacked 1/4 - 1/2 mi downstream . Gets slower as move farther downstream; not as many lge boulders or fallen streams. Noted small "meadow" on one side. Graham caught 3 indiv. .. One small indiv. was captured but released. Probably juvenile. Noted that when tried to capture it would swim towards shore. After releasing once it swam to ~ 1/4 inch of my shoe & didn't move when I "stroked" him on the mud. Wonder about orientation in juveniles? Should have tried
