Rana cascadae California: Siskiyou Co., McCloud Rvs. at Colby mlws, elev. 1 July stopped there ~ 12 30 pm . I'd 1 animal in shallow, rocky area of stream right at r/d crossing. H2O frog rocks to H2O out deep pool nd J(2) cutbars H2O Not too h'd to catch. Most of area dnstm from there impossible to walk since too overg'n ? w/ lg trees fallen over. Walked d'n r/d 'til got to area where able to get into stream - area where more rocky areas - more similar to R. boylei - type habitat. I'd 1 frog sitting on rock (able to put net over almost completely). I'd 3rd in similar situation to 1st. After eating lunch (200 -> 215 pm PDT) drove down r/d further to where Moosehead ck crosses r/d. Saw 1 juv. cascadae sitting on rock but it ducked out of sight before I could get at. None others seen there.
