4 Susan M. 1973 Rana boylii 11 July Calif: Trinity Co, Trinity Natl Forest, Hayfork, Hayfork Creek. T2N R12W 10 elev ~ 2300 stopped by bridge just outside Hayfork on rd to Hyampom. Number of tadpoles (which I should have collected & didn't). Adults not in lg abundance. (They must be there somewhere). Got 6 rather small individuals 1:30->5 PM PDT Calif: Trinity Co, Trinity Natl Forest, Hayfork, Salt Creek Peanut T1N R12W -12 elev 2499 2nd T2N R12W -36 elev 2400 ? Stopped at 2 sets w/in 1 mi of each other. Tadpoles (10) all caught at Peanut. When disturbed they "scoot" under rocks or bury themselves under silt. Often they will just rest on the bottom Relatively easy to catch. 4 adults also caught. At 2nd stop, -don't remember any tadpoles. Only caught ~1/2 of frogs seen (caught 4). Lot of silt on bottom which will bury into so once jump, is hard to see where have gone. 9:15->11:45 AM PDT
