air temp. ~33°C (T) found ~2 ft from bank
on rock under young branch of tree (tide sample
taken for later identification). (Tom Buckholtz
chaptered it) (11:45AM)- missing right front leg
7:25 P.M. - small individual captured m~ 2 inches
H₂O after ~~ scared off bank. H₂O T°-21°C. (?)
Bank-rockets as is bottom of river. Air T°-25°C
~100' upstream from where got first one.
Number of other individuals there but unable
to capture - all small.
Pinus ponderosa = yellow pine
Dominant veg= Ponderosa pine to some deciduous
growth. Streamside not heavily overgrown to vegetation,
forest floor covered to pine needles.
In an attempt to capture are individual, noticed
that it went up into some dry overspown
twigs/roots.

Wonder if they use places like that to overwinter in?
