Tue, 5th. 1975 Journal 47 Lodi/Lumme Co. trip 3 Sept (cont). Seems the city & Co. of S.F. decided to dam up the lake. Wonder if they also introduced the resident bullfrog population? Headed back to 120 - Stopped at Ackerson Ck but it is very small and not prob very suitable for boylei. Decided to go into Yosemite and do a little looking for muscosa while I was there. Drove to May Lake pking area. Many Hyla regilla tad, most w hind legs, in pond at parking lot. Hiked up to May Lake but no sign of any amphibians (including Hyla). Drove back down to 120 and stopped at turnout across from rd to May Lake area. Vs large shallow pond ~ 100 ft below road. Went down to look for R. muscosa. Only Hyla regilla tad seen - these also w hind legs. Headed back on 120 west. Stopped at Siesta Lake where had gotten R. muscosa in 1972. Only Hyla regilla seen. Lots of tad, all beginning to metamorphose. Brought back ~15. Was n 4:30 pm (PDT) so drove back to White Wolf campground to stay the night. 4 Sept. Hiked up to Lukens Lake from campd. Caught 2 R. muscosa, also saw 2 that got away. Also took 5 tad.
