ase, S.M. 1975 Journal 40 2 July N. California trip. Took 17 North from Berkeley to San Rafael & got on St Francis Drake Blvd -> Rte 1 N. Checked stream in Taylor State Park in 2 places for R. boylei. Actho looks like suitable habitat, none there. As continued up Rte 1, stopped at mouth of Salmon Ck to look for R. aurora. No luck. (But they're across the rd in the wildlife sanctuary). Also stopped at small stream (no name) to look for boylei. Again no luck but there may be too much shade there. Continuing N, stopped at mouth Gualala Riv. No frogs but 2 deer. Ended day at Manchester Beach State Park where camped. Looked for 2 ponds at N end of park rep'td on topo map & in which Sam Sweet had fd aurora. Both dry. 25 July Walked dr beach S'rd Pt. Arena to find outlet fo Lagunes (?) Ck. Followed it upstream quite a way but no frogs. Most of bank is quite abrupt. ie L1 L11 Not many places for frogs to sit. Left Manchester & cont. on Rte 1 to junction w/ Rte _ inland. Stopped at
