Susan M 1973 Journal 37 2 July L.A. county trip left Berkeley ~ 8 AM (PDT) - got on 680 -> 580 -> 205(?) (Ivany & Monteca) to 99 to Bakersfield where to 58 -> 14 -> 2 -> 39 to Coldbrook Cpgd in San Gabriel Mts. Arrived ~ 6 PM (# of rest stops on way). 3 July One of Zweifel's (1955) localities for E muscosa is just above this cpgd. Approx 8:35 AM started up N. fork for '4 -> '/2 mi. Not see anything. ~ 9 AM went down to bridge over W. fork (~ 5 mi from cpgd) & walked ~ 2 mi upstream from there - supposed to be dense population. Only saw a few tadpoles which collected (see E. californiae E. poeyi). Finished ~ 1:30 P.M. Went into Azusa for ice & more supplies). Heat has really gotten to me! How can anyone stand it here? ~ 4:30 PM was going to go back upstream from cpgd to look for more frogs. However since people were coming down from there I figured any E muscosa, there may have been
