24, Susan M. 1973 Journal 36 July (cont) Nevada co trip Hiked into Big Trees Creek in South Grove but despite 5 hours there - no frogs. Tried to get into San Antonio Creek in Dorington but the road is closed (private). C. murecose is supposed to be there. Also, at the White Pine end of the creek they've constructed a lake which may affect things. Drove up to Lake Alpine on rte 4 to see if any frogs there. Walked over a mi. of its bank but no luck. may be too much human activity. Stayed at Big Meadows Cpgd for nite. 7 July. Drove down to Tuolumne co (or 49) -> rte 108/ 120 x0 Middle Fork Camp ( now Lees Middlefork Camp). Walked up river where had gotten animals last year. Nothing (just people). (~ 1/2 noon). Decided to return to Berkeley to do lab work.
