At our convergence SW of ISSO (ALBACETE Prov.) where the PANTANO DE TALAVE flows into the PANTANO DE CAMARILLAS, we saw L. lepida and M. leprosa active but took neither. Later in the day we progressed to Ávila Province and into the Sierra de Gredos. Along the Río TIETAR, at C-502, 8.5 km SSE of ARENAS DE SAN PEDRO, we stopped in the scorching heat to collect 3 Podarcis hispanica (1680, ♂, 3.5g, 52+91R ; 1681, ♂, 4.6g, 58+103R ; 1682, ♂, 4.0g, 57+72R) and one NATRIX MAURA (1683, ♂, 5.9g, 189+52). Further along our route, we passed 1.8 km N of CUEVAS DEL VALLE where I shot a LACERTA SCHREIBERI (1684, ♂, 44.5g, 118+116R) which was sunning itself on a bridge abutment. In the area between SAN MARTÍN de PINPOLAR and the main highway (C-502), and 1 km in either direction along C-502, in the rain, we collected: -89-
