S. D. Busack 1982 15 JUN (1572, f, 115g, 163+293c) along CA-221 "CONT'D" 22.5 km NE FACINAS (= 1.5 km from C-440) and a MALPOLON MONSPESSULANUS (1573, male, 630g, 44.75 INCHES + 12.75 INCHES). The Malpolon was intentionally run over by my car! A little-used, yet effective, technique. Night driving the Berdup de Sidonia loop was not worth the $10.00 in gasoline it cost us. We got one TARENTOLA MAURITANICA (1574, female, 5.9g, 58+59c) alive on the road 5.1 km S of Berdup on the un-numbered road which goes down to C-440. On our way home, we found a BUFO BUFO (1575, f, 85g, 92 SVL) 3.5 km N. of the intersection of C-440 with CA-221 (on C-440). A very windy night with little or no herp activity. 16 JUN SPAIN: CADIZ PROV.; TORRE DE LA PEÑA. The heat continues but is less severe than yesterday (or maybe we're better acclimated?). Decided to try for ACANTHODACTYLUS ERYTHREUS along the beach to the NE of the compound - no sign, the beach area appears well used and trashed.
