13 JUN 129 mm AND 1558, ♀, 465g, 145mm) along
"CONIG-2." with a NATEIX MAURA (1559, ♀, 28.75g,
320 + 79) which was AOR. at the bridge
crossing the RÍO ALMODÓVAR.
Since this evening was the first
after the full moon had cycled out of
the sky, one wonders if our success
will now be tied to one evening every
month!
14 JUN SPAIN: CÁDIZ PROV.; TORRE DE LA PEÑA
It is incredibly hot (35°C)
today -- too hot to collect and we
are tired. But night collecting is
possible and we are on the FACINAS
road (CA-221) looking mainly for
amphibians.
0.3 km NE km. 1 on CA-221,
we collected one ♀ MAUREMYS LEPROSA
(SDB 1560) and drove to the recreation
area on the RÍO Almodóvar (≈ 3.3 km SW
FACINAS on CA-221). At the recreation
area we found one TREMENTOA MAURITANICA
(1561, ♀, 12.5g, 75+55R, Shelled eggs 10x15
R and 10x15 L, only 2) on the grass. Perhaps
it was cooler there than up in a tree?
One RANA PEREZI (1562, ♂, 15g, 55mm SVL).
taken from small pond.
