Since this evening was the first after the full moon had cycled out of the sky, one wonders if our success will now be tied to one evening every month! 14 JUN SPAIN: CÁDIZ PROV.; TORRE DE LA PEÑA It is incredibly hot (35°C) today -- too hot to collect and we are tired. But night collecting is possible and we are on the FACINAS road (CA-221) looking mainly for amphibians. 0.3 km NE km. 1 on CA-221, we collected one ♀ MAUREMYS LEPROSA (SDB 1560) and drove to the recreation area on the RÍO Almodóvar (≈ 3.3 km SW FACINAS on CA-221). At the recreation area we found one TREMENTOA MAURITANICA (1561, ♀, 12.5g, 75+55R, Shelled eggs 10x15 R and 10x15 L, only 2) on the grass. Perhaps it was cooler there than up in a tree? One RANA PEREZI (1562, ♂, 15g, 55mm SVL). taken from small pond. 11.6 km W. FACINAS on CA-221,
