S.D. Busack 1982 -35- 18 APR Today we left MENDES, where, incidentally, there is what must be the best campground in Morocco. Perhaps will return. We drove first to DAYET-ER- ROUMI (=10 km S. of KHEMISSET) where there is trout fishing and a compound with about 3 sites. At this time of year, the camp is empty but still costs 30DH (≈$5.35) a night. The lake looks artificial and has little vegetation around it -- it's very cold and windy and we left. After futility overtook us as we tried to find the PLACE at SAGÉ and Sundance Village Camp, we went on down the road to MEHDIA- PLACE where there is a 10DH/night campground -- which will be nice when they get water and sanitary facilities -- which we left. On into KENTRA and the municipal campground there where we will camp tonight. Since we've gotten nothing but frustration out of the past two days, we are going collecting tonight because I can hear Bufo MAROCANUS and HYLA MERIDIONALIS calling in the distance. The campground in KENTRA is located
