Today we prepared the specimen from last night, drove to C4012 to refill the N tanks, change some money, see Luis HIDALGO and his son, the biologist, JAVIER, who works with JAVIER CASTROVIEJO at DOANA. Pleasant enough, but was amused at how lightly he tried upon the subject of my working in Spain again. At any rate, I suspect that the 17 L. N. tank will be safe enough with them.
LATER we stayed at the 4 Star Hotel GUADALQUIRIS -- $36.27 for 2 + breakfast. A nice place to visit, and quite reasonable on U.S. standards.
Couldn't resist driving, once again, the roads around LOS BARRIOS in search of specimens on this somewhat rainy night. We drove N. on the road to Jimena de la Frontera to where it intersects with CA-512 and turned W. onto CA-512 toward C-440 and Los Banios. At 8.6 km N. of LOS BARRIOS (Road distance up C-440, then E. onto CA-512) (OR 6.7 km W. of the intersection of the Jimena road with CA-512 on CA-512) we found one SALAMANDRA SALAMANDRA (1092, F, 34.5g, 11+68)
