3.9 km E, 100m, ~2207 h, in a
pond formed by the freshwater of the Rio
Almodovar, 3 Rana perezi (917, 5.2g, 39SVL♂;
918, 17.75g, 58 SVL♀; 919, 49g, 77 SVL ♀; all
H,L,S,I) were collected along with one ♂
Hyla meridionalis (916, 5.3g, 47SVL; H,L,S,I)
27 MARCH
FACINAS, 5.9 km S on N-340 (area of
old bridge on Rio del Valle) to 23.5 km E.
of Facinas on the road to C-440.
At the old bridge over the Rio del Valle
at 1432h, 90 m, 31.2°C Tb, 22°C Ta, I found
one Poecis hispanica sunning itself. (925,♀,
4.3g, 57SVL + 98 TAIL C, stomach empty,
4 shelled eggs; 2L,2R)
18.8 km E. of FACINAS in an area of
oak woodland we found a breeding pond
of Triturus marmoratus. One adult and
several larvae were seen.
23.5 km E, at the intersection of the
FACINAS road with C-440 where the old
bridge has been replaced with a new one,
we collected 4 NATRIX Maura under stones
in the grassy fields adjacent to the stream
(921,♂, 35.75g, 360 SVL + 105, 19.4°C Tb, 23°Ta,
fish in stomach; 922, ♂, 19.0g, 289+81 mm,
19.4°C Tb, 19.5° TA, earthworm in stomach; 923,
♂, 18g, 295 + 89 mm, stomach empty; 924, ♂, 5.8g,
