P. Brylski 1985 Journal Rose Valley Ranch and Freeman Gym (see previous pg.) 2-8 Feb traps. In all 7 the trap nights thus far, I've captured mostly ff. I caught 3 mf at Rose Valley from 2-8 Feb (117f). The mf of fs from Freeman Gym is somewhat higher, particularly because of the last several days (7-8 Feb.). From 4-6 Feb I caught 0 of fs at Freeman Gym (and 89f's). On 7 Feb I caught 1 m (24f) and 3 mf today, 8 Feb (24f's). It appears the of fs were mainly below ground, until recently. Now their abundance or activity above ground (ie, mounds) is about the same as the ff at Freeman Gym. Tomorrow (9 Feb) I'll start concentrating again at RVR. Births: only a single f gave birth definitely. This is a large f from RVR (PVB # 953). She gave birth to ~ 5 2 nights ago. The young (some of them anyway) are still alive, as evidenced by the squealing. I haven't yet heard squeals from other cages, so presumably no others have given birth yet.
