S. Brylski 1982 Journal Tilaran, Guanacastu Prov., Costa Rica 25 July 2o forest w/ 60 traps (to Canas 22km) to Arenal (7-10 km?) (To 4.1 km E Tilaran) x hotel garcia town square x hotel 26 July fucked up our traps round town - nothing caught w/ 60 traps just outside of Tilaran. We - we did catch one Lionys. Forgot (since its evening already). at 4.1 km E Tilaran we caught ~10 Heteromyss. all were saved for work tomorrow. 1120am left Tilaran for San Jose. San Jose, Costa Rica 27 July set traps late yesterday outside of Escazu 4.6 km W Escazu Prov. San Jose , 1250m w/ 2o forest/ grassland. Caught one Sigmoidon hispidus and one roostr ( head caught in trap set in coffee plantation) out of about 80 traps set. Bad luck. were hoping for Lionys salvini . Rest of day spent at the lab @ University of Costa Rica processing animals. Ed + I also set about 80 Sherman in a 2o forest 1 km W, 4km N Santa Ana : Saw many small & large bats flying in an open corridor adjacent to a banana/ coffee plantation. 28 July Caught nothing at this locality. It looked good too. There was a well developed overstory (sp?:) 40-50 ft. tall
