Journal 4.1 - 5.0 km E (byroad) Tilaran, Guanacaste Prov., Costa Rica 23 July Picked up trap lines, about 120 traps at each locality. Results were 19 or 20 Heteromys desmaresti- ianus and one Oryzomys alfaroi. I caught 6 or 7 heteromyss at 4.1 km E as in the riparian forest on the south side of the way. 4.1km x where El Neda fought 2 juvenile armadillos. 5.0km 2pm just outside of Tilaran we stopped to organize last night's catch. At least several of the Heteromyss are pregnant. I sacrificed 3 animals, 2f + a juvenile s? (PVB 759-761). Both ff were pregnant - one very late pregnant (34 mm embryos). 6 km S Iberia (by hug 1), Guanacaste Prov., Costa Rica 100m 23 July 3pm while driving past this site we found a road kill Tamaandua. Took measurements, the skull (#762 s?), I opened up the rotten carcass to sex it.
