Journal 2.2km E (by way Z) Trinidad de Dota, San Jose Province Costa Rica 2600m 18 July caught Restroodontonyx - one specimen of 24,32. After preparing some specimens we drove west again forward San Jose , to trap around Tres Maria at a locality told us by M. Hafner. Cerros de la Carpintero 1450m 19 July 12noon we arrived here yesterday afternoon after driving on several dirt roads south of Tres Rios (South of Interamericana Hwy). Arrived in the driveway of Oscar Mora and his wife , at the end of the dirt road. Just below where a tunnel through the mtn is being dug. The terrain is mostly either straight up or straight down. Nearly vegetated of Lord knows what. Coffee plantations several to 10 hectares dot the hillsides. Dense thorny small trees, thick forb groundcover , larger dicots (trees) comprised the vegetation trapped. I set a line of 50 up the hill to the east of Oscar's modest home, through the thorn trees - up through the coffee plantation. To the top of the hill, vegetated of a moderate (50%) overstory of a broadleaf tree of dense understory of rosaceous lush , forbs etc. Another line of 40 was set in comparable habitat to the west & south of Oscar's home - up the road which leads to the top of the hills (1-1/2 mi away) where Hafner probably
