total = 31 / 120 trap nights
Not particularly good trap success, partly attributed to
on and off gusts (25-50 mph) from the west and a 9°C
nighttime temperature. Last night marks the 2nd ♀ P. formosus
capture, the 1st being on 24 March (PVB 587). PVB 587 is
alive and captive while last night's catch was sacrificed.
230 pm leave this locality for northward drive on 395 and
190 to Keeler to catch D. deserti.

6 ♀ April
Arrived here round 430 pm and began setting Sherman out
on the sand dunes here. Actually, just one dune, but
its base supports scrub vegetation and shows many deserti
carrrows. Set 50 traps here, since I trapped ?? out ?
hole on 12 March 1982. Don't expect there are many more.
Also set 120 traps several miles north of here at
1.0 mi S Keeler, Inyo Co., Calif. which is sand dune habitat
west of Hwy 136 and east of Owens Lake. Apparently good
deserti habitat, wind blown sand, hummocks & crusty
