Journal 10 March Vicinity of Coco Jet., Snyo Co., Calif. that a single ♀ Perognathus was captured from either locality, suggesting that the ♂♂ are in the burrows suckling youngsters. Longimembris estimates though I don't think formosus does. There ♀ the ♂ long. appear to be several though the formosus show a partial scrotal state with very full seminal vesicles. Perhaps there's sexual difference in emergence time from estivation. It does seem less unlikely that the females wouldn't emerge from the burrows to feed. The question awaits study & suppose. 10pm transferred the fixed embryos ♂ ♂ repro tracts from the 2 oz jar to quart jar after wrapping them individually in cheese cloth, icing them with the fingerling alcoholic trays. The truck is alive with the rattling of Dipos in their traps. Figured that if I could stockpile some 50-100 in early pregnancy (Survey showed that if ♀ was < 40g, more than likely the embryos were quite undeveloped), then I could sacrifice them at various times (1 week, 2 weeks, etc) for a pure representation of embryos at more advanced stages. 11 March I am up to check the traps. Am starting to eat breakfast before checking traps. How my attention wanders on an empty stomach... I jam. The catch today was quite good. westy tiny 395 (parallel to the aqueduct): merriami ♂ 2 ♀ 2
