Perognathus formosus 4/10 captures/18 traps
Well over the Perognathus formosus were pickled in 10% formalin.
This formosus locality has not yet been described.
Very rocky hillside, west facing 10-15°; vegetation is sparser than previous locality, at 30% cover by several unidentified thorny shrubs, barrel cactus. Creosote comes in at lower edge of transect (and hill). Soil is very rocky - almost no exposed sand or gravel. Rocks range in size from boulder size to fist size, the latter in greatest abundance by far.
4pm Cruised into the hills east of this last locality for general reconnaissance, 6pm back at camp, having set the trap lines: one line of 25 a bit (1/4 mi.) to east of the last locality. Also set 35 traps in Atriplex scrub at selected sites to catch deserti. Likely deserti habitat was walked and 2-3 traps placed at every sandy spit w/ many burrows. The line
