1130 am Animals were assessed for reproductive
condition, sex, & species. Ed H. and I debated
over whether the large Dipodomys is microps or
panamintinus. I think microps, Ed thinks
panamintinus. 57 live animals were retained,
the rest released. ?? x of each heterozygic
species were saved. Peromyscus were all released
(?? were Neotoma). Several D. microps ?? were
sacrificed immediately (#s 181-182) to determine
reproductive condition. Neither were pregnant,
both being parous however. They did not appear
to have given birth this year, judging from the
width of the uterus being fairly narrow. ??? the
mammae distended, suggesting young were not in
the burrow. 1230 depart Yucca Valley for Darwin Falls
