J Brylak 1977 Journal 0.2 miles south Mission la Soledad, Montery Co. California 4 December Getting a 30 to 45 minute jump on me. in the morning. 5 PM (week). Just returned from taking up the traps and collecting 3 soil samples. Samples were taken from inside burrows at 3 points: bottom of the slope, mid slope and upper edge of slope. Colors range from light to dark brown perhaps due to moisture conditions (moister & darker at bottom of slope). Soil is sandy. The purpose of the samples [illegible] is to coded match them with colors from the Munsell color chart. SUMMARY OF TRAPPING EFFORT TRAP DAYS CAPTURES 2 DECEMBER 6 (12 for 1/2 day) 1 3 " 21 8 4 " 23 2 50 11 11/50 = 22% Success. Apparently [illegible] I trapped the majority of animals from this one section of pasture (~7 acres), though the numerous fresh mounds (of the past week) would make it appear otherwise.
