Cali.
December 20, 1932
Cast a junco as it flew out of
a bush on an open hillside.
On the way back to camp we
noticed that the weather was actually
very warm and sunny, and as
we drove along I saw a Calif.
Ground Squirrel near it, hooting
the side of the road and I secured
it. About a mile further on we
saw a second one, but couldn't get
it as it ran down its hole with a
Buckeye ball in its mouth.
December 26, 1932
It rained and hailed during the
ight and started snowing about
eight o'clock and by ten o'clock we
had from three to four inches
over everything.
We broke camp and after trying
vainly to get chains on over sized tires,
we pulled out and had no difficulty
in getting to Reddy. On the way down
we saw many Ground Squirrels also
a "Poser Out" note and Lewis
Woodpeckers and lots of Roseberry Birds
in numbers. It rained off and on all day.
