Bosnew 1952 journal 24. Aug. 24. 3 mi. SW Tree Pinedra, 9000 ft., Rio Arriba Co, New Mexico a very few minutes in one tree, feeding actively all the while. The Audubon Warblers seem to be the most elusive warbler yet encountered. Vireos have been met with only in aspen groves -- never in pine or oak thickets. All the warblers collected have been fatty on the feather tracts & around the cloacales. The most fatty was the im. Pileolated Warbler taken today. Pygmy Nuthatches are still as abundant as ever & very responsive to "queek". Other members recorded im Grosbeak (up?), Spotted Towhee, Green-backed towhee, Tolsmie Warbler, Red- noped Sapsucker, + this follo Bond-toiled Pigeon + Stupid + K Mt.
