May 20 Russian Gulch State Park, 40ft., Mendocino Co., Calif.
3:15 PM Flew from bay tree over meadow in front of our camp and up the gulch stream. Called once. Sunny, warm.
May 30 Flew over meadow by camp. We were sitting in car
2:30 PM sissies from the rain. Mrs. Brinnell reports seeing and hearing kingfisher go over every day. We wonder what he eats, having seen only one minnow in the creek.
