May 18 Russian Gulch, Mendocino Co., Cal.
Flat on top hill just north of camp. One ♂
trapped in dense, damp growth of Pinus muricata,
Cupressus pygmyaeg tanbark oaks, rhododendron,
bracken, manzanita, Vaccinium ovatum.
No growth for few inches near ground and humus
covered with dry leaves.
