June 7 Russian Gulch State Park, Mendocino Co., Calif.
and Grinnell vehicle by about 8 o'clock. Viola rode
down with Bert in the truck. Mrs. Grinnell, Jo,
Fran, and I left at 8:45 in her automobile, having
experienced a little trouble in getting it started.
Our artist neighbor poured gasoline in our carburetor,
but the car didn't start until, [illegible] he was already
to pull us. Route home along Highway 28 to
Clearlake, then Highway 101 to Yrekaville.
Turned here into the Napa Valley along 28 again
stopping hour and half for picnic lunch at Bale
Mill, a historic Russian spot. Returned to
Berkeley via Carquinez Bridge arriving about
4:20 PM.
