Boulevard, JT 1942 Canis latrans Apr. 2 Berglund Ranch, 1450 ft., 5 mi. N Corralitos, Santa Cruz Co., Calif. Scats of coyotes are extremely numerous on the ridges in this vicinity. In the several which we sketchfully examined, we saw many rodent bones. I was anxious to collect up some of these scats, especially to see if evidence of Dipos could be found, but impending rain caused us to depart prematurely and hastily. Apr 7 Muddy Creek, 1000 ft., 1 mi. S Chualar Canyon, Monterey Co., Calif. We found this afternoon a coyote skeleton, weatherworn, but with skull still in three pieces and missing only a few incisors. It was found in a small clearing in a stand of Artemisia californica (dominant), Salvia mellifera, Buchan's ap., and short grass.
