Worked down the road to the south branch of the West Claudie, thence down to the main stream and up along it to the waterfall ½ mile or so from camp. Forests very wet, and visibility bad. Plants taken mostly from the ground and close to it, including several ferns and orchids new to the collection. The prize for the day was a magnifi- cent Hoya (19447) with great blackish purple, gardenia-scented flowers 8 to 8.5 cm. in diameter. Have given Don Vernon some cuttings to grow in his greenhouse in Brisbane.
