Feb. 27 - March 10
1963
Ojo la luna, Chihuahua, Mex.
Turkey Vulture - one seen
Red-tailed Hawk - one at 6000 ft.el.,
one here near Camp.
Harris Hawk - 4
Marsh Hawk - 1 to 3 each day
Sparrow Hawk - 1 to 3 each day
Scaled quail - 30
Coot - 1
Killdeer - 2-4 each day
Wilson Snipe - one to 50 each
day I went to the marsh. Although
widely distributed in wet areas they
are far more abundant in a
wet field that had corn growing
there last season. Even although the
number seen has fluctuated I
saw 35, which indicates that
they have not yet migrated out
of the area.
Greater yellowlegs - 1
Mourning Dove Common 30-100 seen
each day
Whitewinged dove - one at 6000 ft.el.,
in canyon to Santa Clara
