Journal 2 & Bolff Ojo Laguna, Chihuahua, state. 1963 Mex. 5000 ft el. March 7 Prepared specimens - made no new observations. Temperature & wind moderate March 8-9 Trip to Chihuahua for provisions & mail. Dinner with the Baldwins. Saw no new birds around camp or entrants. Grackles around Santa Rita motel where we stayed demonstrated nocturnal activity. March 10 Cold and extremely windy. Temp at noon 60° F. Made a short trip around the spring ponds. New birds: Mallard drake - on small pool with one Diaz ducks. First Mallard seen- was not able to collect it. No other ducks or ponds. Savannah Sparrow - 10 - one collected? Redwing Blackbird & first seen Swallows - 25 - Tree or violet green Brewer Sparrow - still abundant Wilson Sours - 35. Harris Hawk - 1
