Ojo Sagina, Chihuahua, Mexico
March 5.
Cold wind all last night and all of today.
Temp 35° at 7 am . 55° at 1 P.M.
Took trip with Sr. Gutierrez to
Ojo Saguna Station, on the railroad
5 mi. E. Of Ojo(Springs) where we
are located. There is considerable
water in the big Laguna but it is
muddy, salty and too exposed on
a cold windy day for birds.
New and less common birds:
Bobmed Sarks - 30
Drag ducks - 6 first seen.
Cinnamon Teal-16birds 34. (Collected)
Bald pato-1
Brown Towhee - 2
Cactus wren - 2
No major change in bird observed
just few days. Brewer Sparrows
still here in large numbers.
Squint - 3
Scallop Gual - 30 in flock near camp.
First seen.
Mammals
Raccoon - caught one in steel trap
but it Tangled traps (1½) around
post and pulled free.
