Borell 1966 Ojo Sajuma, Sierra del Indo 5200 ft. Chile, Mex. Apr. 14 Again spent the morning hiking through the mesquite of Cadillan in search of Gambel Quail - to no avail. By noon the temp. had dropped, the wind was blowing and dense clouds were gathering. Between 4 and 5 P.M. we had about 1/2 inch of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning - most unusual to have rain at this season - especially during a period of drought - Mr. Gutierrez (at this camp) was happy. Apr 16- cold, windy and cloudy - took a hike through the mesquite - critters were scarce - nothing new. By 4 P.M. we needed lights in the trailer. Between 5 & 6 P.M. during a thunder and lightning storm we had a small cloudburst - at least an inch of rain, maybe two. Every trail and sully became a small river.
