Journal Borell 1964 Lago Sao Pajas, Rio Santa Clara, el. 4700 ft Chih. Mex. 2/20 continued more families living in the river bottom above the Presa will have to move. The river bottom now being flooded as well as the valley floor for several miles above and below the new presa is divided into numerous small farms. These farms raise cotton, corn, chili a few vegetables ad a little alfalfa at present the flooded corn fields in the upper end of the lake provide feeding grounds for coot and ducks. The new lake is providing a deep water environment not previously present in the Sierra del Fido area. The dam was far enough along to close the gates this past August. The Rio Santa Clara is now discharging a relatively large flow into the lake. There is enough flow that even with hip foot I have to look for a favorable crossing. * Elevation obtained from Emelio Monte Mayor, engineer at the presa.
